Desk Area
Updated: Aug 10, 2022
A teacher's desk should be their royal throne. It should be an area of the classroom that is unique to them but welcoming to all. I believe I achieved that with my desk area. The pink and white desk is brightening and the tiger rug shows school pride. The chair placement was very specific. I know this will encourage those students who are trying to get out of work but I also hope it invites those who may need someone to talk to.
Being an ag teacher, I know how close some students feel because of the many travel trips & I hope to be that teacher for my students. In high school we had "Mama P" and she deserved that name. She was our second mom and treated us as such.
The chair you see in this photo was actually saved from being thrown away. The cushions were a little funky looking so I last minute had to sew my own cushions. Who knew cushions were so crazy expensive!
TIPS FOR WRAPPING DESK!
-Be PATIENT. Your desk will look a lot better if you take your time and allow all the air bubbles to release and the wrinkles to flatten out. If not, that could cause your peel n stick to lift.
-CLEAN area. Make sure to wipe down your desk beforehand. If your situation was like mine, this desk had been sitting in a shop all summer with all the spider webs you could imagine. Cleaning the area will allow the adhesive to remain strong at the surface.
-Use a SHARP knife. I forgot to bring my X-acto knife with me when starting this project but thankfully a sharp box cutter works just as well.
-XL Scraper. If you have a cricut use the one it came with or if you're like me & lost it, buy one from dollar tree and it works just as good!
